More about Sedona...and some fish

Just a couple more pictures as I am at home today helping with Kim. The first in the series is me after a long hard delivery. They did not offer me any form of pain control although I requested it a number of times. The second is our pride and joy.
Sedona does not really like to get bundled up so this was a good shot before she started to fuss and wiggle her arms out. Kim and Sedona came home Sunday night after being discharged at nearly 9PM. No one seemed to be in much of a hurry to get us out but we were not really in a hurry to go anywhere. I have missed having a baby to hold but I have not missed the night time awakenings. Deacon is still waking up early (4AM) for a bottle every morning so Dad has been assigned to Deacon duty and Kim gets Sedona duty (since I am not equipped to deliver the milk). She is such a beautiful little girl. Ashley and Nolan love (and will often fight for the right) to hold her. Deacon is still pretty intrepid but seems to understand she is here to stay. He stays right next to Kim whenever he can but has been happy with the extra attention he is getting from Dad.
As a gift to the other kids, to let them know that they are not forgotten, we (me) put together a fishtank with some goldfish. The clerk at petsMart tried to talk me out of getting goldfish because they are so dirty but they are just so cool. I have missed having a tank in the house. We used to have a saltwater tank that I loved but took to much effort to keep clean and it was while I was in school and did not have the time to commit to it. We love to just sit in the near dark with the tank lights on and just watch the fish. They like to stay in groups and love to look at the "other fish" in the mirror behind the tank. Ashley, Nolan and Deacon like to watch and the older two fight about who's turn it is to feed the fish.

Sedona Joy McLaws

A lot can happen in 1 week. Ashley was baptized last Saturday and following the baptism Kim did not have a single contraction for almost 2 days. Well that all changed Friday night. After being induced on Friday Baby Girl McLaws was born Saturday morning. She weighed 7lbs. 1oz. and was 20 inches long. She looks remarkably like Ashley. After 9 months of not knowing what to call her she decided for us. Sedona Joy McLaws could have no other possible name. She is well and so is Kim. Deacon came for a visit and was a bit unsure about what to think or do so he just stared. Ashley and Nolan are very excited and can't wait to get her home to have her all to themselves. Thank you all for your thoughts, prayers, kind words and service. We truely appreciate all that you have done for us. Come by and see the baby. Happy Sunday and Happy Birthday Sedona.

She is coming on Friday. The doctor is calling the hospital and setting everything up for me to be induced. After church on Sunday we decided to go for a walk. We walked 2 miles and no contractions. When the time comes we will post pictures until then I am getting everything ready for our big day. Sorry no pictures I still have a hard time figuring it out.

So I went to the Dr. yesterday to find out that I am 50% efaced and dialated to a 1. I have had several contractions and am getting nervous. I seem to have a contraction every time I stand up. So I am walking and keeping myself busy. The only child I went into labor on my own was Ashley, we are very excited and hope I can go into labor on my own. I hate waiting days to get admitted in the hospital. "you are #7 on the list" are the famous last words. It is torture. Ashley's baptism is still on Saturday. We will leep you posted.
